EducationICMS WELCOMES FORMER NSW PREMIERMike Baird To The TeamFormer New South Wales Premier Mike Baird has joined the board of the International College of Management Sydney (ICMS) as the college continues to grow as the leading Northern Beaches higher education institution. Mr Baird will be a part of theICMS six-person board chairedby college founder Darryl Courtney-O’Connor AM. He started his role with the award winning educational institution in May.The former NSW Premier,who retired from politics in January, 2017, has had a 15 year association with the respected Northern Beaches higher education institution, which is committed to promoting world- leading academic excellence and educating students for success in the workplace.Mr Baird said, "I have had a longassociation with the ICMS and very much look forward to making a real contribution to its important work supporting and educating the next generation of business leaders."Chairman Darryl Courtney- O’Connor AM said, "Mike has extensive proven business and management experience and isa perfect fit for a business and management college like ICMS.We are especially keen to get Mike’s advice in new course strategy to meet the demands for our industry partners and students."Mr Baird has spent 17 years working in the financial sector, mainly in corporate and institutional banking, including 10 years with NAB and stintswith several major global banks, including HSBC and Deutsche Bank. He entered the NSW Parliament in 2007, before serving as Treasurer between 2011 and2014 and premier from 2014. Mr Courtney-O’Connor alsoannounced the appointmentof Deidre Anderson to the ICMS Academic Board to further enhanced the depth of teaching and support available to students. "Deidre Anderson is a highly respected Australian academic administrator, sports executive, sports psychologist, and athletics coach. She has worked withelite athletes like Cathy Freeman and Ian Thorpe and will make a valuable addition to our Academic Board," he said.Deidre Anderson joined Macquarie University as chief executive of sport and recreation in 2003. In 2007 she became CEO student services and was appointed a Vice Chancellor in 2011.
